We have been a long-standing supply partner for a UK Power Generation Operation.
During major shut-downs, the Power Station had a requirement to clean the Plant’s water in-take panels. As the screens included delicate components, onsite cleaning processes would often result in damage and render them unusable until fully repaired, externally. The Station therefore wanted to improve the overall cleaning process and complete turnaround times
Challenges:
- Understanding the complexities of the client’s complex process system and the parts involved as this was a new type of polymer
- Developing a suitable process in collaboration with the client, which would provide a similar level of service found in-house but with reduced turn-around time and within budget
Actions:
- Close liaison with the Client’s Process Engineers to fully understand the requirements of Water In-Take Screens
- Formulate a bespoke cleaning process and schedule
- Provide an ‘at cost’ trial clean to present improved efficiencies in the clean and timescales
- Trial clean to determine suitability of cleaning such complex gear pumps
- Close liaison with the Client, including onsite meetings to build trust and knowledge base
